Have you ever wanted to try unique locally sourced eats but from the comfort of a beautiful patio with a cocktail and while listening to a live band? BlueTop has to be your new go to spot. BlueTop is a new restaurant and bar located right in the hot spot of downtown Chamblee. The restaurant itself is a trip and experience, from the 1969 Global Van Lines Moving van turned kitchen to the railway nails turned purse hooks in the bathroom.
They offer an intriguing and mouthwatering menu, updated industrial and homey atmosphere, and service where the people are incredible. You’ll never want to leave.
I am obsessed with the menu here. They are known for their small bites and sandwiches, because the food is so good you want to get many options and share with friends. For the small bites we highly recommend, the Olive Oil Poached Octopus. It was quite literally the best bite of Octopus I have ever had. If you feel you aren’t usually an adventurous eater, this is one you NEED to try. It is so light and well balanced, and the Octopus was so perfectly cooked you wouldn’t even think you were eating what you are eating! Next, we recommend the kale and spinach dip, an update on a classic dip. Served cold with pita chips, this dish sent my taste buds wild. You could really taste the light citrus zest. We felt this was another great sharing dish you could enjoy with friends. Other crowd favorites to try Mini Shrimp Po Boys, Candied Pork Belly & Shishito Peppers, and the Smoked Pork Eggrolls!
For the sandwiches we highly recommend the Goat Sloppy Joe. I know, it sounds crazy but it is a top favorite and I can see why. Savory and slightly sweet tomato-based sauce, hearty meat, and gooey cheese. This sandwich is a mix of nostalgia and excitement. Other notables are the Jerked Mahi Mahi and the Bluetop Burger!
Overall the food and atmosphere at BlueTop can’t be beat, but it’s the people that makes it special. Dining on the patio we saw the owner tending to the garden which made us feel at home, especially when he came over to check on us throughout our meal.
If you ever can’t find me, look for me on the back patio of BlueTop. On a nice day I’ll be kicked back with friends playing bocce with a BlueTop Mule in my hand.
