Fellini’s Pizza has defined Atlanta pizza for decades. The restaurant began on the hipster square in Little Five Points on the border of DeKalb County. They stayed opened late and attracted a variety of young, music fans grabbing an inexpensive slice after seeing a rock concert nearby or hanging out with friends.
What started as a long, narrow eatery also happens to serve some of the best pizza in town for a low price. Since then, the restaurant has moved and branched out into a number of locations across Metro Atlanta and has drifted more towards a family atmosphere. After all these years, if you are looking for great pizza at a nice price for lunch or late night, you can’t beat Fellini’s.
Their Candler Park location, near Little Five Points, has remained my favorite location for many years, primarily due to its community atmosphere, prime location and outdoor patio. The outdoor fountain and placement in the center of the small business district, makes it one of the best places for relaxing on a nice day or people watching, and is just steps away from eclectic shopping.
Fellini’s menu has remained basic and consistent throughout the years. Pizza is served by the slice or whole. Toppings include Italian Sausage, Pepperoni, Meatballs, Banana Peppers, Pineapple and many others. The Calzones have remained very popular and they do serve up vegetarian style pizza as well.
Fellini’s has a loyal following of patrons who return often for a slice of choice pizza and soak up the casual atmosphere. Even fans of Chicago and New York style pizza have raved about Fellini’s pizza, according to reviews on Yelp.
Fellini’s Pizza in Candler Park is located at 1634 McLendon Avenue. For more info, visit FellinisAtlanta.com or call 404-687-9190.
