Southern Grove Restaurant describes itself as a modern eatery and bar. They recently opened at the newly renovated DoubleTree by Hilton Atlanta Perimeter Dunwoody. The restaurant is near a central, large modern bar area and features comfortable seating indoors. As the name suggests, the cuisine is traditional Southern flair with a modern touch.
We began with the fried green tomatoes, which seems to be a favorite here. The tomatoes are cornmeal-crusted with comeback sauce. One appetizer serving is plenty for a small family or group. Their Fried Pickles were also a delight, dipped in a bit a sauce for extra taste.
I got their Empire City Burger which came with a bunch of delicious French Fries. A half-pound brisket-short rib chucky patty packed with goodness. Their lunch menu also includes Fish and Puppies, Veggie Club, Sliced Brisket and House-Smoked Chicken Wrap.
Dessert featured some delicious vanilla ice cream and Pecan-Peach Cobbler. So much taste in both items, it is hard to decide which I liked best.
For dinner, Southern Grove offers Shrimp & Grits, Chicken & Waffles, and Mama’s Meatloaf, to name a few of their entrees.
If you are looking for some delicious Southern flavors, with a modern touch, Southern Grove is the place for you.
